As health care faces a shortage of skilled workers who can deliver quality care in an increasingly scrutinized industry, strong workforce development programs are essential. HASC’s Workforce Development Initiative seeks to raise awareness among our members of the various health care training programs available, and of program graduates seeking employment opportunities.  Additionally, this initiative strives to improve communication between HASC members and training providers of workforce development needs. About the Workforce Investment Board

Funded primarily through the U.S. Department of Labor federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA), the City of Los Angeles Workforce Investment Board (WIB) oversees the City’s $45 million workforce delivery system of 18 WorkSource Centers for adult job seekers and 13 OneSource Centers for youth. 

Board members are appointed by the Mayor from the leadership ranks of key industries, education, economic development, organized labor as well as other sectors vital to the Los Angeles economy.
