Ventura County Participates in Medical Disaster Exercise

Ventura County Public Health sponsored “Operation Medical Shelter” May 10 and 11 at Freedom Park in Camarillo. This was a 36-hour medical disaster/shelter exercise provided for hospitals, public health, fire services, law enforcement, emergency medical services, military and volunteer organizations. More than 900 participants statewide attended the event.

Ventura County Receives Final Report from the American College of Surgeon on Trauma Hospital Site Reviews

The American College of Surgeons released its final report from its site reviews of three hospitals in Ventura county seeking designation as Level II trauma centers under the County’s new Trauma Plan. The ACS report concluded that all three applicant hospitals were suitable for designation and recommended that the County designate all three. This recommendation differs from the recommendation which the County received in an earlier consulting report that only two hospitals should be designated.
