More than 20 hospital discharge planners met about AB 274 at the invitation of HASC; they discussed the challenges they face in finding appropriate shelter resources in the community for homeless patients requiring these referrals, as well as challenges arising when patients exercise their rights to refuse services that have been arranged for them. Next steps were also discussed.

At the invitation of HASC, regional planning group of hospital discharge planners, shelter representatives, law enforcement, and county homeless representatives met to discuss desired outcomes and the framework for the regional dialogue to follow in May.
