About Us
Who We Are
The Hospital Association of Southern California (HASC), founded in 1923, is a not-for-profit 501(c)(6) regional trade association. The mission of HASC is to serve the political, economic, informational and educational needs of hospitals AND to help improve the quality and accessibility of health services.
There are three unique organizations in the HASC family:
- The Hospital Association consists of 157 hospitals (public, private, not-for-profit and for-profit). The region covers six counties: Los Angeles, Orange, Santa Barbara, Ventura, Riverside and San Bernardino. The association provides members with public policy development and advocacy, education and the latest technical and industry information and products and services. It serves as a forum for improving access and quality.
- AllHealth, a wholly owned for-profit subsidiary, specializes in business, financial and consulting services, and hospital safety and security. It is a growing arm of HASC that provides dividends to enhance HASC services.
- The National Health Foundation (NHF) is a not-for-profit charity affiliate with the mission to improve the health of the underserved by creating systemic solutions to gaps in health care access and delivery. NHF receives financial support from corporations, government entities foundations and individuals to carry out its work.
What We Do
Among many key benefits, HASC:
- Brings executives together from hospitals to develop consensus positions and resolve common issues.
- Develops relationships with representatives of the news media and conducts an ongoing public advocacy program.
- Provides numerous technical services, including issue advisories, data collection and analysis to improve quality and financial performance.
- Provides information services, including staff consultation, weekly news publications, educational programs, issue analyses and other services.
- Brings staff expertise and services closer to members through four regional offices--Riverside/San Bernardino, Los Angeles, Orange and Santa Barbara/Ventura.
