Charge Nurse Education Series

In today’s hospitals, charge nurses are expected to lead staff while balancing the organizational systems of their patient care units. Being successful takes the right training and continued leadership development. 

The Hospital Association of Southern California (HASC) in partnership with  FlexEd present a challenging new series of courses that provide the direct training and development necessary to effectively manage a department in a clinic, hospital or health care facility. Engaging, insightful courses bring nurse leaders of all levels together to enhance communication and conflict resolution skills, produce better outcomes, foster improved performance from staff, and enhance patient safety across the unit and throughout the organization.

Customer service is the key to the delivery of quality health care.  Learn skills that help increase patient satisfaction and avoid escalating situations in this popular course. You’ll get introduced to the HCAHPS Survey tool, used to rate hospitals and health care providers on customer service, and you will understand the aspects of customer service including respect, courtesy, communication, attitude, problem resolution and service.

To be effective in the role of a nurse leader, the individual must understand their own Emotional Intelligence (EI), as well as how to apply these traits to key nursing leadership skills. Establish basic competencies in data analysis using MS-Excel in Introduction to Data Management for Lean Six Sigma, an exciting Lean course brought to you by HASC and the Institute for Performance Excellence.

Designed for health care professionals, this two-day, two-hour introductory webinar revisits data principles of data type and basic graphing techniques using Excel. Students will apply the tools and techniques in a tutorial format for the first portion and then work on a case study and report out for the second portion of each section.
