Inland Area Group Moves Forward on Regional HIE Project (Feb 5, 2010)
Members of the Inland Empire Health Information Technology Coalition (IEHITC) will meet Feb. 8 to address the group's progress toward establishing a regional HIE (or partnering with an existing one) to serve the Inland Region. To date, the coalition has received 10 proposals from vendors interested in helping to launch the project.

On Friday, Feb. 26, HASC and Homeless Health Care Los Angeles will present "Effective Strategies for Discharge Planning of Homeless Patients," which will address the role of hospital personnel in discharge planning, related legal and regulatory responsibilities, and much more.

OneLegacy & Local Hospital Partners Lead Nation in Recovery of Transplanted Organs (Feb 5, 2010)
Working in concert with more than 200 local hospital partners, OneLegacy - the non-profit organ and tissue recovery organization serving the greater Los Angeles area - led the nation in the recovery of transplanted organs for 2009, coordinating a total of 1,182 organ transplants from 382 donors.

AllHealth Security Services helps health care facilities meet the requirements of AB 1083, the new California law that requires hospitals to conduct annual security and safety assessments to help ensure a safe environment for their workers, patients and visitors. AB 1083 also requires hospitals to have sufficient personnel to provide the security measures outlined in each facility's new or updated security and safety plans.
